Johnson Controls is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Engineer to join our global chiller engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the design and development of new products, as well as support the production of existing products worldwide.About the Role
This senior-level position requires a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with a strong focus on product design and development. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs.The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and participate in various engineering activities to resolve factory and field technical issues.Responsibilities
Maintain a thorough understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles, and processes related to mechanical and electrical aspects of chillers.Collaborate with the design and drafting group to generate chiller layout concepts and system configurations.Develop and maintain detailed engineering/design documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.Design and execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of electrical and mechanical components and systems.Analyze test data and provide input for design and troubleshooting.Apply regulatory codes such as UL, CE, PED, and ASME in product design.Possess knowledge of manufacturing processes and apply the philosophy of designing to standard manufacturing processes.Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or related science or equivalent.A minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field.Experience in a design and product development environment.Strong understanding of fundamental business knowledge.Knowledge/experience in electrical engineering (electric motor, motor control, electrical wiring) would be a plus.Strong design background and knowledge/experience in refrigeration systems and components (compressors, heat exchangers) would be a plus.What We Offer
