Job DescriptionJob Title: Clinical Nurse - Pediatrics
Job Specialty: Pediatrics - RN Float Pool
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 + additional shift required per month, every other weekend)
Guaranteed Hours: 34.50
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting; must have PICU and pediatric step-down experience
License: Registered Nurse with current registration
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Must-Have: Pediatrics experience with competence in area assigned, including NICU, PEDS MS, PEDS Step-down, PCICU
Job Description:
- Deliver patient care by incorporating professional practice models and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and organizational nursing standards.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, employing critical thinking skills in patient management.- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the care plan.- Educate patients and caregivers about their care plan, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the interdisciplinary patient care team.- Manage assignments within the care delivery model, demonstrating material resource allocation effectively.- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, considering their values, preferences, and cultural diversity.- Use evidence-based practices to improve patients' perceptions of care and initiate service recovery as needed.- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.- Implement process improvement strategies and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects.- Utilize institutional information technology for documenting nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
This role requires a physical and mental aptitude to care for acutely ill patients with a variety of diagnoses and necessitates proficiency in clinical procedures, data entry, and electronic medical record systems.
