Job Description:- Provide cardiopulmonary care services in alignment with physician orders, department policies, and procedures.- Administer respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.- Perform diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating heart and lung disorders.- Maintain knowledge and skills in various methods of oxygen delivery and necessary equipment.- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and nebulized medications while monitoring for side effects.- Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators and perform associated critical care duties.- Perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis and understand complications and contraindications.- Follow equipment sterilization procedures and document patient data accurately.- Engage with electronic health records, departmental forms, and reporting procedures.- Demonstrate understanding of treatment techniques for different age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients, and adjust oxygen concentrations and medication doses accordingly.- Manage and operate respiratory equipment safely and efficiently.- Develop and evaluate educational plans based on patient learning needs.- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity, ensuring coordination and direction of patient care.- Attend education programs to maintain professional competency and engage in performance improvement activities.- Adhere to professional requirements, maintaining a neat appearance and reporting to work promptly.- Remain compliant with regulatory requirements and come to work with a positive and professional demeanor.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:- Requires walking for approximately 10-12 hours per day.- Involves light to moderate work with lifting up to 50 pounds.- Requires reaching, bending, stooping, handling objects, talking, hearing, and seeing.- Work involves varying temperatures and pressures.
