Location: Miami, FloridaThe Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) supports and promotes the mission, purpose, and priorities of the University of Miami through fundraising and engagement by building and nurturing strategic philanthropic relationships to improve and transform the lives of individuals and communities. The Executive Director, Institutional Giving leads Sylvester institutional fundraising activities to strengthen relationships with key national constituencies to advance philanthropic support for a variety of institutional programs and priorities. Additionally, the Executive Director works to identify funding opportunities and develops strategies for successful approaches. This position is a key member of the Sylvester leadership team.Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Sylvester Development, this position works closely with colleagues and leaders in the hospital, clinical departments, and research to proactively craft and implement strategies to increase philanthropic support from institutional donors. The successful candidate will be skilled at working with senior leadership and external partners on groundbreaking gifts and grants that achieve UHealth/MSOM priorities and advance health care innovation.Responsibilities:

Oversee and lead the Sylvester Development programs in Institutional Giving.Develop and implement strategies to identify and engage funding entities to grow and diversify philanthropic support.Lead fundraising efforts to secure major and principal gifts from institutional donors.Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with institutional leaders.Collaborate closely with faculty and researchers to build a culture of institutional fundraising.Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging opportunities within institutional philanthropy.Partner with the University of Miami Foundation Relations team to produce grant applications.Represent the institutional relations field within the broader development and academic communities.Build strategic collaboration tools and processes necessary to optimize institutional fundraising.Grow the institutional relations pipeline and program and manage a portfolio of prospects and donors.Participate in strategic planning with the AVP, Sylvester Development.Develop stewardship plans to engage and grow relationships with existing institutional donors.Prepare and work within approved programmatic annual budget.Contribute to maintaining positive office morale.Take on other office-wide duties as requested by Sylvester leadership.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 7 - 10 years of demonstrated successful experience in institutional giving, preferably in healthcare or cancer. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are necessary along with the ability to be highly organized, creative, energetic, and assertive.
