Odyssey Recruitment Global Medical Recruitment – Hamilton, North Island$200,000 - $200,000 a yearFull time, PermanentSeeking a consultant microbiologist for a full time permanent contract with a tertiary hospital in New Zealand's North Island. Competitive compensation with relocation support and visa sponsorship.Position highlights:A tertiary referral and teaching hospital located 90 minutes drive from Auckland.A team of 2 microbiologists and three infectious diseases physicians.Pathology service provides an extensive range of diagnostic testing across five laboratory sites.Laboratory provides complete microbiology services in bacteriology, mycology, antimicrobial susceptibility, mycobacterial culture and DST, infectious disease serology including high volume work and conditions rare in New Zealand, molecular diagnostics, viral and bacterial, both high volume and specialist testing.There is an excellent microbiology laboratory with a molecular diagnostic suite and plans to include a sequencer.The microbiology and infectious disease departments work together closely with weekly laboratory and clinical meetings.The infectious diseases department provides a comprehensive tertiary level service.Provide specialist input and a consultation service to the large critical care unit, haematology unit which includes stem cell transplantation, renal, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and vascular surgery in addition to medicine and oncology.Infectious Diseases department provides outpatient care for infectious diseases patients including those living with HIV, TB and an outpatient intravenous antibiotics service.Requirements:Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).Applications are welcome from those trained in microbiology or dual trained in microbiology and infectious diseases with flexibility for the successful candidate if dual trained to work in both microbiology and infectious diseases.Remuneration:Salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 450,000 PA DOE.Relocation package.Visa sponsorship.Study leave and allowance of NZD 16K pa.6 weeks paid vacation PA.How to Apply:If this post is of interest, please apply with your CV and cover letter.We can assist with applications for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
