Coreshell 's metallurgical Silicon anode technology delivers high capacity, fast-charging, and superior safety. Our low-cost liquid-phase nano-coating addresses critical electrode-surface degradation issues and enables batteries with a Silicon-dominant anode that have higher energy density, superior intrinsic thermal safety, and significantly lower cost/kWh compared to current LIBs. Our Si anode material is 50% the cost of graphite and 100% domestically sourced. We strive to transform the global automotive market by enabling low-cost and long-range EVs as a first step towards net-zero sustainability in the near future.
Position:
The Facilities Manager at Coreshell Technologies is a crucial role that ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our R&D labs and battery pilot plant facility. You will be responsible for overseeing equipment maintenance, repair, and safety. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our ongoing R&D efforts by ensuring the optimal performance and availability of our R&D and battery pilot equipment. We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on professional with a strong background in equipment maintenance, repair, and safety management. This is a solo role where you will be expected to perform most of the tasks independently without any direct reports initially.
Core Responsibilities:Proactively manage the maintenance and repair of battery pilot and R&D lab equipment, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance. Utilize extensive knowledge of industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.Manage the safe storage and inventory of hazardous materials, ensuring all practices are code-compliant and aligned with industry best practices. This includes maintaining up-to-date inventory records and safety data sheets for all hazardous materials.Oversee the code-compliant and timely disposal of hazardous waste, coordinating with reputable hazardous waste disposal consultants and companies to ensure all hazardous waste is handled and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of R&D lab facilities, ensuring they are well-equipped, organized, and functioning optimally to support ongoing research and development activities.Work closely with state, city, and permitting regulators to ensure that the battery pilot plant and R&D labs are in full compliance with all applicable regulations and permitting requirements. Manage the permitting process and maintain all necessary documentation.Participate in the day-to-day operation of the battery pilot plant, including scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory management. Optimize processes and workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity.Serve as the primary maintenance expert for the battery pilot plant and R&D labs, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in battery manufacturing technologies and incorporate best practices into pilot plant and lab operations.Manage relationships with equipment vendors, service providers, and suppliers. Coordinate equipment installations, repairs, and maintenance activities to minimize disruptions to pilot plant and lab operations.Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to equipment maintenance, safety incidents, pilot plant and lab performance, and regulatory compliance. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.Required Experience and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience in equipment maintenance and repair may supplement educational requirements. Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing complex industrial equipment, preferably in a R&D, battery pilot plant or similar environment. In-depth knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety programs in an industrial setting. Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and apply them to improve pilot plant operations. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently.Creative and self-driven, with a proven track record in problem-solving. Ability to adapt to various challenges and wear multiple hats in a dynamic environment.Location & Benefits:
