The Sustainability Lead will play a pivotal role in driving these ambitious sustainability initiatives. This position will involve developing and implementing strategies to enhance energy efficiency, reduce GHG emissions, and foster sustainable practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage stakeholders, and monitor progress towards sustainability goals, ensuring alignment with Under Armour’s vision for a greener future. Renewable Energy (RE):
Develop and lead a RE procurement strategy to achieve UA’s sustainability goals, securing necessary investments and supporting RE sourcing. Manage and negotiate contracts to meet regulatory and program standards (e.g., RE100), while maintaining relationships with key energy stakeholders.Data Collection:
Oversee data collection for GHG accounting across UA's global corporate real estate (CRE) footprint, including energy, waste, and water usage. Coordinate with retail teams globally to ensure consistent data entry for retail locations.Compliance:
Monitor energy regulations and collaborate with the sustainability team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, supporting regulatory reporting for climate disclosures as needed.Waste and Energy Optimization:
Analyze energy consumption and waste in CRE operations, identifying opportunities for waste reduction and energy efficiency improvements using innovative technologies.Key Performance Indicators:
Partner with the sustainability team to define, track, and report on performance metrics, implementing projects that drive progress locally and globally.Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (facility staff, management) to implement CRE sustainability initiatives. Create communications on sustainability progress and engage with external partners as needed.Policy Development:
Establish environmental compliance policies and training programs for UA’s CRE, providing tools to support policy adherence.Sustainability Project Management:
Ensure new campus buildings align with sustainability frameworks (LEED, WELL, Net Zero). Oversee the application of sustainability strategies in construction and operations to maintain these certifications.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in a related field.Experience in developing and implementing energy strategies.Experience in procuring renewable energy to meet organizations targets.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.Ability to build internal relationships and effectively communicate with stakeholders.Possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to educate and train internal stakeholders.Ability to communicate with governmental regulatory agencies.Ability to gather, manage and present large data sets in a clear and concise manner.Proficient with MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel.Workplace Location
Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days per week in-office.No relocation provided.Base Compensation
$103,494.00 - $142,303.70 USDMost new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
