Oversee the payroll function for the organization, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, managing payroll systems, and providing support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with five (5) years direct supervision and payroll related experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.In depth knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g. Workday). Strong leadership and supervisory experience required.Experience processing multi-state payroll.Solid understanding of garnishments, payroll rules and regulations, and legal compliance practices.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Responsibilities:Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy in salary calculations, deductions, and taxes.Manage payroll timelines and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure the organization adheres to all legal requirements.Prepare and submit payroll reports as required by government agencies.Manage payroll systems and software, ensuring optimal functionality and user accessibility.Implement and oversee improvements to payroll processes and systems.Prepare regular payroll reports for senior leadership, providing insights into payroll expenses and trends.Conduct audits of payroll and related processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.Supervise payroll staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality work and professional development.Foster a collaborative environment within the human resources team and across all departments.Develop and maintain payroll-related documentation and employee communications.Develop and lead process improvements for the payroll operations.Review and ensure reconciliation and analysis of payroll related balance sheet accounts, accounts, ledgers, and journals.Research company-wide payroll processes to include interfaces between multiple systems to include HRMS, HRIS & FIN, etc.Working with the VP of Total Rewards, review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures in order to ensure compliance and to provide recommendations and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.Communicate actively with Accounting, HR, Contracts, and Billing to review cross-departmental impacts and accuracy of data sharing.Provide expertise in payroll best practices and communicate the fundamentals to individuals at all levels within the organization.Ensure the completion of payroll control activities to include checklists, as well as timeliness and verification of data.Attend meetings as requested.Perform additional duties as requested.Compensation:
