The Data Engineer I role is an integral part of the team responsible for delivering accurate, secure, and timely recruiting data and metrics to our customers across Amazon.The ideal candidate is passionate about data and analytics, with a strong foundation in data engineering. The Data Engineer I will work closely with the wider team to architect, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines.Key job responsibilities
Design, implement, and support secure access to large datasets.Architect, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines.Extract, transform, and load data from a variety of sources using SQL, scripting, and AWS big data technologies.Design and implement ETL pipelines and BI solutions.Collaborate with business owners, developers, and BI Engineers to explore new data sources and deliver insights.Stay up to date with advancements in big data technologies and contribute to pilot projects.Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues, contributing to increased autonomy and productivity.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years of data engineering experienceExperience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelinesExperience with SQLExperience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMRExperience with any ETL tool like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
