The Rehabilitation Registered Nurse is responsible forassisting patients in attaining and maintaining Amergisum function due to chronicillness and/or a debilitating injury. The Rehabilitation Registered Nurse assists patients in the recoveryprocess, as well as creating a recovery plan with the ultimate goal ofachieving an independent lifestyle as much as possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses the physical, psychological, sociocultural, andspiritual dimensions of clients and their families, as well as theireducational and discharge needs in order to formulate nursing diagnosesImplements a plan of care by providing nursing care andeducation directly or through ancillary personnelCoordinates educational activitiesUtilizes appropriate resources to develop and implement anindividualized teaching and discharge plan with clients and their familiesPerforms hands-on nursing care by utilizing the nursingprocess to achieve quality outcomes for clientsProvides direction and supervision of ancillary nursingpersonnelDemonstrates professional judgment, uses problem-solvingtechniques, and delegates appropriatelyCoordinates nursing care activities in collaboration withother members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to facilitate theachievement of overall goalsCoordinates a holistic approach to meeting patient'smedical, vocational, educational, and environmental needsMay facilitate community education regarding the acceptanceof people with disabilitiesEvaluates the nursing care that is being provided andmodifies the plan, as needed, to achieve measurable goals and objectives
Minimum Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practicesOne year prior professional nursing experience in arehabilitation setting preferredCRRN certification may be required per state/client contractComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpracticeParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of age
