New Hanover County is seeking a customer oriented healthcare professional to join the clinic team at the Health Department. This position provides professional clinic nursing services to adults and children in various settings that include walk-in clinics for sexually transmitted diseases, family planning, and child health or specialty clinics such as the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) or Wise Woman Program. Must be willing to cross train in all clinic settings. Duties include administering immunizations and medications (oral and injections); obtaining medical histories; place and read TB skin test; providing detailed health education and follow-up on communicable diseases, child health, and other programs; conducting pre-counseling and post-counseling patient interviews; and documenting in the electronic medical records.

* Hours:

Hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Must be available to work during emergency situations. Late clinic hours on Tuesday once a month until 7pm.

Salary Information:

Thehiring rangefor this position is$59,168 - $79,877. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.Bilingual candidates are eligible for a differential (5%) when performing Spanish language interpretation during the course of work.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

* NC RN License * Bachelors Degree in Nursing * OR Associate's Degree in Nursing

* OR graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing

1 year of professional nursing experience

What will make your application stand out:

* Public health experience and/or experience in a fast-paced clinic setting preferred.

* Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus and is eligible for a 5% differential in pay.
