Compositing Frameworks Manager

UI Compositing team develops APIs, Frameworks and System Software that is the core graphics compositing engine behind every Apple device that renders to a display. Our team is looking for an extraordinary software engineering manager to lead a team of highly skilled engineers to work on the technologies behind the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AppleTV; every Apple product that has a display. By working at the core graphics layers in Apple's operating systems, you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the end user experience for all Apple customers.DescriptionAs a manager on the UI Compositing team, you will lead a team of highly skilled engineers in the design and implementation of critical rendering technologies.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of engineering management and project leadership experience, delivering high quality products5+ years of hands-on software developmentPrior experience in leading large cross functional productsExcellent software design, problem solving and debugging skillsPreferred QualificationsProven track record in strategic leadership and decision makingA genuine passion for 2D and 3D graphicsExperience with OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, or other GPU programming APIsExperience with software performance analysis, optimizations and low-level systems programmingYou have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsYou have an ability to stay focused and prioritize a heavy workload while achieving extraordinary qualityYou are upbeat, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive attitudeEducationBS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experienceAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
