Senior Director, Procurement
The Senior Director, Procurement champions strong Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and helps align vendors and contractors in a strategic manner to gain the best possible value structure for delivery of raw materials, consumables, capital goods, services and indirect materials, in accordance with the global company strategy. The role reports to the SVP, Global Procurement in the Evotec Group’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
This position is hybrid based at our Seattle or Redmond office.
Responsibilities
Responsible for procurement, analysis, negotiation and control of both laboratory and GMP raw materials, consumables, capital goods, services and indirect materials spend for Just-Evotec, Seattle and assigned sites in accordance with corporate targets and guidelines
Lead a team of motivated procurement site specialists, in the planning, coordination, execution and monitoring of all operational and strategic tasks of the site procurement function
Lead, develop and coach the team towards procurement best practices in accordance with the group strategy
Evaluate and develop a supplier base and partnerships through strong SRM to create a reliable and long-term source of supply
Support vendor excellence via agreements, process improvements, and best practices
Provide ongoing optimal service and support to the operational teams and provide full transparency and regular updates about critical aspects to all key stakeholders
Generate and analyze monthly KPI, gap analysis and corrective actions
Lead, guide and implement efficiency projects (local and global) with support of project sponsors
Establish and train on procurement processes and policies in accordance with global guidelines
Ensure export and import activities are compliant with international trade laws and customs regulations
Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders including manufacturing, technical operations, quality, validation, facilities & engineering, and process development organizations to understand and optimize internal processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Management or Engineering, ideally a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or similar
More than 5 years’ experience in a procurement position and at least 3 years in senior position, ideally in an international corporation
More than 3 years of good manufacturing practices (GMP) experience
Previous experience in procurement leadership in a Production/Material Requirement Planning- driven company is a plus
Capable and competent leader with the ability to positively influence others cross functionally
International trade and transport knowledge
Demonstrated experience in successful contract negotiations
Superior communications skills with the ability to interact, converse and share ideas effectively with employees at all levels of the business
Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills with a positive and “can do” approach
Sound commercial and analytical skill set
Must be fluent in English; fluency in French is a plus
Proficiency in ERP procurement (SAP), inventory management and control systems, MS office, E-procurement and digital tools experience
Occasional travel between sites according to business needs
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $160,000 to $200,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
