Director of Food Service OperationsReports to:
The General ManagerResponsibilities
Coach, supervise, and direct Food & Catering managers to meet operational needs (financial, staffing, product, merchandising, client expectations, etc.) daily.Administer and oversee scheduling for Food Operation and Catering departments as necessary.Assist management in developing training standards for alcohol service, customer service, safety, harassment, etc.Work with Regional Executive Chef and teams to track, maintain and budget inventory and Cost of Goods (COG).Maintain professional communication with the Resident Area General Manager and General Manager.Remain knowledgeable of and manage in accordance with all applicable laws.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Uphold and demonstrate a complete understanding of company policies and procedures.Forecast weekly sales and maintain monthly sales analysis with General Manager.Manage payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines.Set precedent to achieve Sales, Per Cap & Controllable Budget in departments of oversight.Complete business assessment for Food department and support Director of Catering Sales.Minimize controllable costs associated with the operation.Perform the steps of SSA EXTRA Guest Service to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client.Oversee and assist in driving operational systems, processes, and policies.Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, laws, and policies.Manage employee life-cycle management, including progressive discipline documentation.Determine appropriate levels of operation based on weather, events, and partnership expectations.Assume an active role in long-range planning for Catering & Events department programs.Interact & build working relationships with facility personnel.Develop & support new operational items in Food Operations.Assist with construction or renovation plans as designated.Promote an inclusive & supportive approach at the Unit.Ensure unit strives to be an example for Company & Client guidelines regarding Sustainability/Conservation efforts.Support SSA / Unit in driving community efforts through hiring and engagement activities.Perform other tasks as deemed necessary.Job Requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Proven leadership skills with an understanding of team building/development.Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.Demonstrates financial management, merchandising, analytical, planning, and leadership skills.Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.Computer knowledge for basic office functions.Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle boxes (up to 35lbs).Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Previous Experience
Six years of Operations Management; experience in cultural or museum attractions is a plus.ServSafe or Food Handling Certified is a plus.All education backgrounds accepted.Must be 18 years or older.This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job description.
