Product Development Engineering Technician

Summary - Job Responsibilities – Activities: Functions:  Perform electrical and mechanical assembly from sub-assembly level to finished prototypes  Perform electrical and mechanical diagnostic/debug/qualification testing to verify design intent and proper operation and generate formal test reports  Participate in generation of assembly processes/instructions documentation for factory production personnel to follow  Using AutoCAD Electrical, generate panel wiring diagrams/schematics/wire lists, etc.  Create electrical panel physical/mechanical layouts which implement the above designs  Work with Field Service and Engineering staff to assist in troubleshooting in house and field issues as required  Follow all Lab safety requirements  Must adhere to all policies and practices of AMSC ensuring the Code of Conduct and highest level of ethics are always maintained Education - Experience:  Minimum: 2 year technical degree, journeyman electrician certification or equivalent  Preferred: 4 year BSEET or equivalent  Minimum: 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:  Basic electrical/electronic technical and mechanical skills  Skilled in reading and interpreting electro-mechanical schematics and BOMs  Demonstrated high level of attention to detail  Ability to work in a team environment and independently with limited supervision.  Ability to read technical data sheets at the component level  Understanding of safety practices in a Lab and manufacturing environment  Ability to effectively communicate both verbally/written  Computer literate in spread sheets, word processing and internet  Flexibility to work overtime  Medium to heavy work must be able to lift 75 pounds or exert 75 pounds of force on a regular basis  US Citizen or Permanent Resident AMSC is an EEO M/F/D/V
