Title: Trusts & Estates Paralegal Salary: $70,000-$90,000 – depending on experience, some room for flex Bonus: Yes, lucrative bonus structure that is dependent on your billable hours. Possible to hit the bonus in your first year but isn’t common – commonly hit in second year of employment and typically around $7-$15k potential for even more Connect Search is partnering with an established organization in the Milwaukee area that is seeking a highly skilled Trust and Estate Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting attorneys in the post death trust and estate processes and contributing to the overall success of the organization. Roles Responsibilities: Client Relationship Management: Develop and nurture trusting relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns throughout the estate administration process. Provide regular updates to clients regarding the status of their cases, fostering a transparent and supportive environment. Act as the first point of contact for client inquiries, responding promptly and professionally to their questions. Estate and Trust Interpretation: Carefully interpret wills and trust documents to ensure accurate implementation of the estate or trust administration process. Collaborate with attorneys to clarify legal language and ensure compliance with client wishes and legal standards. Document Preparation: Prepare and manage a variety of probate and trust documents, including but not limited to accountings, petitions, and fiduciary estate tax returns. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, thorough, and filed in a timely manner to comply with legal requirements. Collaboration with External Parties: Engage with external sources such as accountants, banking institutions, brokerage firms, and financial advisors to gather necessary information and facilitate smooth operations. Coordinate with these parties to resolve any discrepancies and ensure all financial aspects of the estate are handled appropriately. Court Interactions: Act as a representative in interactions with County Circuit Courts, filing necessary documents and ensuring compliance with court procedures. Prepare and draft probate filings, ensuring all submissions meet legal standards and deadlines. Legal Research and Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations regarding estate and trust administration to provide informed support to clients and attorneys. Assist in identifying any potential legal issues that may arise during the administration process, facilitating timely resolution. Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in estate administration and client relations.
