Feed Production Technician - Ainsworth, NE

PURPOSE
As a Feed Production Technician at Central Valley Ag you are responsible for mixing feed, pelleting/cubing of the mash feed, routing of feed to the correct destination, monitoring pellets/cubes for optimal quality and through-put, inputting data into record keeping forms for efficiencies, and making feed in accordance with SOP s, GMP s and HACCP policy s.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBe able to operate computerized batching systems and pellet processing equipment.Electrical understanding of how process control systems work and operate equipment through automation.Be able to read digital readouts with extreme accuracy.Mechanical aptitude is a must to assist with maintenance and operation of equipment.Have knowledge of major feed ingredients and medications.Tracks feed mill efficiency daily and focuses on data tracking for trials.Be able to work with numerous job functions operating at the same time.Have an understanding of quality control practices and procedures.Have a focus on the housekeeping and cleanliness of the facility.Abide by and observe all safety rules, HACCP regulations, and company policies.Constantly research ways to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.Oversee implementation of new automation and process changes.Ensure mill is meeting volume requirements through daily monitoring.Assist in ensuring paperwork is completed accurately and timely.Training of mill operations personnel and other production technicians.Performs other duties as assigned.

There are no supervisory roles with the position.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEAssociate degree in a related field and/or two to four years equivalent experience required.Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relationships with internal operations and external customers.Great understanding of mechanical and electrical skills.Works in a way that demonstrates safety is a priority.
