DescriptionAmazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager for a high-growth service team. This role will own end-to-end finance support including (but not limited to) P&L management, operational and financial planning, customer analyses, strategic growth analyses, new feature pricing/modeling, and more.Key job responsibilities- Own financial partnership for an AWS service end to end, influencing business decisions that drive revenue, operating expense, and/or capital expenditures- Lead financial planning; build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance- Support strategic new feature launches and ad-hoc requests from finance and business leadership.- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.- Partner with finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, remove roadblocks, and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.A day in the lifeThis role will partner with service leaders including general manager, product managers, and engineering managers to measure and drive improvement in financial performance. This role will serve as a highly strategic partner, helping leaders look around corners to optimize their business. It requires a high level of judgment and a self-starter mentality to deliver financial results for your business and for Amazon as a whole.Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experiencePreferred Qualifications- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience- MBA, or CPA- Knowledge of SQL/ETL- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of resultsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
