A barge dispatcher is responsible for managing but not limited to the following:Day to Day harbor dispatching in St. Louis/CairoResponding to calls/emails from local docks on barge deliveriesCoordinate deliveries as necessary with boat/barge efficiency in mindGame planning with harbor tugs on barges that need to be cleared for future deliveriesAssisting with customer needs/trafficSending traffic logsProvide timings/availabilities on barge shiftsAnswer billing inquiresAssisting with tow building coordinationWork with harbor tugs on Northbound and Southbound tow configurationsDiscussing with traders on commodity needs for exportCommunicating with incoming linehaulsEnsuring barge topoff/transfer needs are being fulfilledMaintaining night orders and ensuring all orders have been completedMonitor barge inventory within fleetsManage shuttle runs & barge redeliveries throughout the harborCoordinating barge cleaning & repair with operations teamAssist on harbor tug downtime & planning with operations teamHarbor billing and invoicing to customersAssisting with barge transfer data entriesTrack linehaul turn time dataKeeping Fleetcom tags up to dateCommunication with internal elevators on barge needs for daily loadings
