Assist is looking for EMTs to join our Communications Department as a calltaker/dispatcher in training! Assist Ambulance is a New York City EMS agency offering a full range of emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs. Assist has a proud 30 year history of providing these services to the diverse and vibrant communities of NYC.

Assist Ambulance offers Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support via emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports for various hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, and community-based organizations. Our dispatch team works 24/7 to coordinate calls. This position is perfect for an EMT with telecommunications experience looking to learn the ropes of becoming a dispatcher. Job Attributes:

High volume call-taking for non-emergency medical transports and emergency calls with a wide variety of medical facilities and medical partners, such as skilled rehab facilities, hospitals, long term care centers, and urgent care centers, including community paramedicine calls, interfacility STAT transfers, and more Work with EMTs, MVOs, paramedics, Supervisors and Directors to provide support via telemetry, radio, GPS services, and tracking softwares Assist with daily operations by coordinating crew members, busses, supplies, troubleshooting, and equipment Learn the ins and outs of dispatching alongside a team of skilled dispatchers and calltakers reporting to the Director of Communications Job Requirements:

Scheduling is currently TBD based on applications Must have 1 year experience with call-taking or a comparable customer service based role Must have an active NY State EMT card Must have a valid, clean New York State driver's license and be able and willing to drive the ambulance when required Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs. in accordance with the NYS DOH Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screening including THC Must have excellent customer service skills and professionalism Must have proactive communication skills and experience working with teams Must be motivated to learn to dispatch in a high stress environment Must have attention to detail and multitasking skills Experience with electronic medical records, medical billing processes, data entry, or insurance portals is a plus Benefits:
