Technician, Early Childhood Physical Therapist, 7.5 hrs/day

TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE
The Early Childhood Physical Therapist participates in the child and family assessment process for children ages birth to three. Services are provided through the primary service provider / coaching model to children and their families in their natural environments. This therapist also provides services to children ages 3-5 in the district's center based preschool program and in community locations throughout Lincoln.
Responsibilities include serving as the primary service provider for children with disabilities ages birth to 3 and providing services through the Primary Service Provider Model to children and their families in natural environments. This position also serves children ages 3-5 who are in community/home childcares as well as preschool aged children in the distirct's preschool program. Must demonstrate the ability and skills necessary for successful collaboration and planning with families, caregivers and community providers as well as other early childhood service providers to implement programming and services to meet the needs of children with disabilities, through the use of a coaching model. Responsible for the development and implementation of IEPs and IFSP in and other related special education paperwork.
Responsible for child and family assessment, including assessment of motor development, collection of GOLD data, collaboration with families/community child care providers on home visits and on-going communication with center based preschool staff through the implementation of the child's IFSP/IEP. Also responsible for conducting evaluations to determine a child's eligibility for early intervention/early childhood special education services.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Position requires travel to homes and community child cares as part of the assignment. Drivers license and dependable transportation required.
This position is a full time, year-round position. This position requires some evening hours.
