Job Goal: The Human Resources Assistant Director is responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of the HR Department. The primary duty is to assist the Executive Director in creating and implementing departmental plans, which involves identifying departmental needs and establishing plans of action.

Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field; PHR or SPHR (Preferred) or Educational Leadership experience (Preferred) 2. Minimum of three years' experience of exceptional leadership in Human Resource management related to school districts or school administration in a public school setting in Georgia 3. Experience with MUNIS Human Resources Management Software (Preferred) 4. Knowledge of federal, state, and local human resource laws, rules and regulations; knowledge of Georgia Professional Standards Commission procedures, rules and regulations to include certification and professional qualification requirements; knowledge of Georgia school laws and local school district policies and procedures; and familiarity of current trends and best practices in all assigned areas 5. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work successfully with certified applicants, teachers, administrative staff and community representatives; ability to plan, organize, and manage large volumes of work efficiently within specified timelines 6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find acceptable and appropriate

Performance Responsibilities: 1. Prompt and regular attendance 2. Assists in the recruitment of all certified and classified personnel and coordinates with the executive director to plan, direct and maintain a program of selection and assignment of professionally qualified teachers and personnel 3. Coordinates the recruitment process (e.g. vacancies, job postings, screening applicants, conducting interviews, making recommendations for hire, new employee orientation, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a professionally qualified staff. 4. Assists in preparing, reviewing, and revising job descriptions and performance evaluations. 5. Oversees new hire intake sessions 6. Assures that all required credentials are submitted, all qualifications are met, and all screening/selection procedures are completed by applicants who are to be recommended for employment. 7. Assist with coordination of the districts' teacher recruiting schedule and job fair. Attend job fairs and serve as the district's representative. 8. Oversees certification processes to include obtaining, upgrades and renewals. 9. Manages compensation processes; coordinates internal processes with the Payroll Department and Technology to ensure cohesive procedures are used; research discrepancies as required by the Finance Department. 10. Advises, consults, and makes recommendations on compensation/certification processes and activities to employees, managers and administrators. 11. Oversee the processing of employee's paperwork for job entry and evaluates education level, and verification of experience forms for payroll purposes. 12. Assists with data entry 13. Assists in maintaining complete and accurate personnel records for all employees 14. Assists in the accurate submission of the Certified Personnel Index (CPI) report 15. Records and reports accurate employee demographic data for successful submission of all required federal, state and local reports 16. Serves as the district's contact for unemployment claims 17. Serves as a communication source for employees 18. Oversees and supports school leaders with TKES and LKES processes 19. Works with the executive director to ensure that department operations contribute to the attainment of district and human resources goals and objectives. 20. Participates in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of human resources rules, regulation, and practices. 21. Ensure confidentiality regarding all personnel matters. 22. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or Superintendent of Schools

Terms of Employment: 240 Day Calendar/Salary is commensurate with certification level and verifiable years of experience. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the supervisor.
