Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Material Handler for a long-term, day shift position at a fabrication shop in Clackamas, OR.The person in this position will be responsible for material movement, inventory management, loading, unloading, order fulfillment, equipment operation, and general yard organization.
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Material Handler Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently transport materials within the yard using forklift (moving large steel beams). Follow established procedures and guidelines for the movement of materials, ensuring accuracy and minimizing damage or loss. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate material transfers between warehouse locations and production areas. Perform regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies. Update inventory records in the warehouse management system, accurately recording receipts, issuances, and transfers. Monitor stock levels and generate reports to facilitate efficient procurement and replenishment processes. Safely load and unload materials onto trucks, trailers, or other transportation vehicles using appropriate lifting and securing techniques. Verify accuracy and quality of incoming and outgoing materials, comparing against shipping documents or purchase orders. Pick, pack, and stage materials for outbound shipments according to order specifications. Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packing slips accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, adhering to 5S principles and safety regulations. Optimize space utilization by organizing materials in designated locations and implementing efficient storage methods. Material Handler Qualifications:
5+ years previous experience in materials handling or warehouse operations preferred. Previous forklift operation certification preferred. Ability to operate Caterpillar DP70 20,000lbs rating; DP90 15,000lbs rating forklifts and Drexel side loader (90° front head) highly sought after. Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, labels, and packing slips. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks. Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and operate equipment. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in operations. Benefits:
