Application Engineer - Automated Optical Inspection Systems

Omron Inspection Systems Division is looking for an energetic Application Engineer based at our Americas headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois or our Prof of Concept location in Dallas, Texas. The Application Engineer will have focused support in automated optical inspection (AOI).

Maintain extensive knowledge of the Omron AOI portfolio (as an in-house expert)Maintain expert level knowledge of Omron AOI programmingAssist customers with equipment decisions, questions & technical discussionsAssist sales team with AOI demos & evaluations (technical sales role)Assist sales team with specific sales strategies & marketing activitiesAssist sales team with industry trade-show activitiesPerform equipment installation, service, support & calibration activitiesProvide remote, phone and on-site customer supportTrain customers and team members on all AOI-related topicsAssist with the design and implementation of AOI training materialsCrosstrain on other Omron inspection solution productsPerform any other activities assigned by engineering supervisorRepresents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, customers, distributors, and colleaguesRepresent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible mannerOther duties as assigned.Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or related technical school.5-7 years of SMT-manufacturing related experienceEquipment support experience and strong trouble-shooting skills.Windows desktop and Windows server support/ networking experience. PC & server hardware build experience.Ability to display leadership characteristics and able to motivate other individuals.Ability to share detailed technical information in an easy-to-understand manner working in a consultative manner with customers.Ability to use current CRM.Energetic, passionate, focused and a highly motivated self-starter.Strong relationship builder and a strong personal desire to win.Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally with strong organizational skills.Team player mentality but able to work independently as required.Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning and communication skills (written and oral).To conform with U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
