The Networking Technologies team creates foundational technologies that enable Apple products to communicate with each other and the rest of the world reliably, efficiently, securely, and privately! The team achieves this through invention and implementation of new technologies, collaboration inside and outside of Apple, and standardization across the industry! The team is looking for a motivated Operations Automation Engineer, with a passion for engineering and operational workflows. The role will include testing, triage, and escalations with a strong emphasis on automation. We care deeply for the maintenance and the triage of the test results where you will have the chance to detect and drive complex software issues to resolution as well as developing tools to analyze and report test result trends. You will be self-motivated and will design and develop analysis and visualization software tools to improvise screening process efficiency. Finally, it’s vital to share your story with demos and discussions to continue furthering our obsession with quality.
Description
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be self-driven to work across various organizations across Apple, balance multiple assignments in parallel, and have the acumen and strength to persuade and influence stakeholders. The candidate also needs to show initiative, ability to take ownership of a problem area, and demonstrate an ability to understand the group’s technology in the larger context of the product and services. The role will require close collaboration with various cross-functional development and performance teams, and will benefit from a candidate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and having a passion for improving User Experience in Mobile environments.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent networking software automation experience
Passion for automation
Strong software design and development skills including; Python, C, C++, ObjC, or Swift programming language experience
Experience developing scripts and tools
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multi-functional engineering team

Experience with the TCP/IP suite of protocols

Strong programming skills in functional or object oriented languages like Python, Swift, Java
Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly evolving requirements
Experience developing scripts and tools
Strong analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills
Working knowledge of iOS and macOS is preferred
Working knowledge of Swift, C/C++ or Objective-C is an extra plus
Experience in developing scripts and tools
Experience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment
Familiarity with network configuration protocols (e.g. DNS, DHCP, Bonjour, etc)
Proven a track record of shipping products
Ability to stay focused and prioritize a heavy workload while achieving extraordinary quality
Innovative, flexible, and results oriented with a positive attitude
Ability to identify and triage test issues effectively
Good understanding of the networking stack and OSI Model is a plus
Strong understanding of Operations Engineering methodologies and practices

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $204,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
