We will offer various procedures (Urology, GYN, Endosopy, ENT, Podiatry) with mild sedation in an Ambulatory setting.Provides support to providers and patients to ensure the highest quality care to patients during procedures. This position functions within the procedure center to maintain effective operations.Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the JobOversees opening and closing of clinic daily.Oversees patient flow and directs care processes.Ensures that pre-procedure approvals, authorizations, and consents are in order prior to patient care.Assists procedure team during procedures and minor surgeries.Coordinates equipment and supplies for procedures daily. Anticipates the surgeon's preference for certain materials or instruments and be able to respond to these preferences in advance, demonstrates sound clinical judgment; adaptable to changing patient needs.Evaluates procedures, reviews medication, supplies, and equipment and ensures that clinic maintains adequate resources for patient care.Oversees preparation of equipment for reprocessing and acts as a resource for procedure team.Monitors supplies and instruments to assure sterility of materials used furthering Quality Assurance of patient care.Reviews patient charts and documentation to ensure that all preoperative safety steps have been taken.Completes patient assessment prior to procedures, and alerts providers to any abnormal results or assessment factors that may impact procedure or safety.Develops/implements educational programs and learning aids for the area/department (i.e. in-service classes, special projects, learning aids, patient care standards).Provides input regarding the need for change in policies, procedures and patient care standards.Other FunctionsParticipates in assigned committees.Other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesOversees unlicensed personnel and care processes.Education, Certifications, and Licenses RequiredCurrent full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required. Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date. Agency staff must have an active Alaska license.Completion of ADN or BSN nursing program.Current BLS certification or within three months of hire and bi-annually thereafter.ACLS preferred, to be obtained within 6 months.High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience Required2 years of experience as an RN in a perioperative setting.Knowledge ofNursing process and the ability to apply this in the patient care setting.Patient safety and infection control principles.Customer service.Skills inCompleting assessments, anticipation of needs, and specimen collection.Use of equipment such as computers and medical equipment.Effective oral and written communications skills.Ability toMulti-task and work independently in fast paced environment.Willing to teach when appropriate.Problem-solve and use critical thinking skills to develop and maintain good working relations with other staff and departments.Willingness to ask for help when encountering a new or challenging situation.Required Certifications:Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, Registered Nurse License - State of Alaska - Alaska State Board of NursingIf you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
