Job Description:
This is a Clinical Research Coordinator that participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning and coordination of research projects.
Research Administration:
Ensures regulatory compliance, assist with the review and preparation of award budgets, develop protocols, and standard operation procedures, ICFs, and maintain study records ensuring accuracy, source documentation, and follow protocol guidelines. Coordinates research studies through IRB, UF Clinical Research Hub and Clinical Trials. Uses RedCap as a data repository for research. Assists with obtaining grants for further research related to neuroprotection and developmental outcomes. Participates in the development and conduct of study billing budgets. Ensures timelines are met and project funds are managed appropriately.
Clinical Research:
Coordinates with nursing staff the collection of samples. Works with lab to coordinate sample processing. Maintains tissue and data bank, ships samples for processing to outside collaborators. Prepares specimen collection kits. Facilitates meetings with national and international collaborators, participates in manuscript editing. Works with nursing staff and coordinates using of multiple monitoring devices in the NICU; participates in data collection and maintenance of data as well as basic data mining and analysis.
Research and Family Support:
Corresponds and assists with families involved in research, consenting and scheduling follow up visits, organizes events for families.
Education :
Serve as educational resource for staff related to research on HIE, cooling, and neuroprotective treatments and research projects; participates in monthly outpatient neurodevelopmental follow up clinics.
Assist with the annual state conference for Florida Neonatal Neurologic Network (FN3).
Expected Salary:
$52,500 - $58,500 annually; commensurate with experience
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous research experience
Effective communication skills
