Job Description
ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES
Major Responsibilities
Under administrative direction, with broad latitude of independent actions or decision, develop and maintain advanced GIS applications that support the planning, management, and operational needs of parks and recreational facilities.
Design, develop, and implement GIS applications and tools using the ESRI ArcGIS platform to support various departmental needs.
Utilize Python for scripting and automation tasks within the GIS environment. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to GIS applications.
Collaborate with team leads to produce outage reports and ensure proper automated notifications are distributed when outages occur or when there is a change in the production environment.
Assist in the development and review of technical specifications for automation and monitoring solutions.
Develop and maintain standards and guidelines for implementing IT automation and monitoring.
Conduct spatial analysis and generate reports to support decision-making processes. Develop dashboards and visualizations to present findings effectively.
Ensure the quality and accuracy of GIS data through regular audits and validation processes. Implement best practices for data management and maintenance.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for GIS applications, processes, and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity.
Stay updated with the latest GIS and automation technologies and trends.

Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure; or
Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure;
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
