Creating access to quality care includes several outreach options including a Tiny House mobile dental clinic, tele-dentistry, community settings, and providing outreach and care to over 100 schools in the community.Due to the ongoing need for Dental Assistants in the Mid-Willamette Valley of Oregon, we are hiring a Dental Assisting Instructor to develop a comprehensive program to educate and prepare students for a career in Dental Assisting.In the position, the Dental Assisting Instructor is responsible for the development, implementation, and teaching of curriculum including all classroom/laboratory instruction, managing and supporting student Externships placements within our network of offices, and supervision of students in their studies and Externship program.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop and execute curriculum for students in all stages of the Dental Assisting programDeliver Instructor Led Training with PowerPoint-based lectures, supplementing with real-life work experienceDemonstrate dental skills/procedures and assist students as they practice hands-on in the labEvaluate individual/group performance and make any necessary adjustments to meet student learning needs including seeking feedback from Externship officesPrepare lesson/unit plans and develop course material and evaluation toolsResearch and development of current standards related to the instructional areaMaintain a classroom environment conducive to learningNotify students of make-up work dueTutor students during make-up timeMaintain student records, grades, and attendanceTeach and guide students on professionalism and daily expectations in an officeAssist in inventory and ordering of supplies and textsAssist in administrative duties as neededIs accessible to students during formal office hours and other times as neededAssist in the department budget planning processCoordinate student externshipsEnsure that each Dental Assisting program is full with qualified and motivated studentsParticipate in outreach to high schools, community centers, and participate in recruiting and marketing events as neededQualifications:Associate’s or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionFive years of dental assisting experience, or three years of teaching in the field of dental assisting.Possession of a valid credential (Certified or Registered Dental Assistant or a licensed dentist)Proficiency in four-handed and/or six-handed dentistry principlesPossession of x-ray certification and the ability to teach and support students in this areaBasic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CertificateAbility to coordinate and evaluate the instructional process for all dental assisting curriculumDemonstrated leadership abilities, while establishing and maintaining effective collaboration with other administrators, employees, students, parents, and members of the communityHighly organized with attention to detailEnthusiasm for improving academic and vocational achievementBackground in computer technology and a learning management systemPay Information:$30.00 - $35.00 per hourOur opportunities provide benefits including:Employee Assistance ProgramBasic life, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance401k plan and deferred compensation planReferral Bonuses ($600-$2,500 depending on roleSchedule:Part-Time, Fridays + Saturdays 8am - 5pmBy applying, you consent to your information being transmitted by Disability Solutions to the Employer, as data controller, through the Employer’s data processor SonicJobs.See Appcast Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy at https://www.appcast.io/privacy-policy/ and SonicJobs Privacy Policy at https://www.sonicjobs.com/us/privacy-policy and Terms of Use at https://www.sonicjobs.com/us/terms-conditions
