Mission:Our client, a distributor of premium pizza items, is looking for a Sr. Purchasing Manager to add to their team. In this position, you'll be responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services for food products (including packaging) essential for the company's operations. This role involves developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring that procurement activities support business goals such as cost savings, quality, and timely delivery.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE experience in a food wholesale environment (and/or other singular qualifier under Competencies/Culture below).

Create and execute procurement strategiesIdentify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors while keeping vendor relationshipsCollaborate with the operations, supply chain, and inventory teams to manage stock levels, ensuring the availability of critical materials while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.Oversee supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.Assess and mitigate risks in the supply chain by maintaining contingency plans and diversifying sourcing to ensure business continuity.Lead and mentor the purchasing teamPrepare and manage purchasing budgets.Provide regular reports to senior managementEnsure procurement practices comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.Competencies/Culture:
