Leads team members to identify, manage, and execute the plants process improvement opportunities. Manages production employees to attain production and quality goals. Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Drives continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale and environment. Responsible for managing and owning department functions of the business and creating an engaged, team-oriented work force in order to improve business results. Job Functions / Responsibilities
Acts as a primary resource to production team to help drive PACCAR Production System (PPS) and meet goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment Manages production and maintenance activities to meet plant goals efficiently and effectively - accountable for line performance. Leads and engages team members to improve systems, processes and procedures. Leads by example and demonstrates PACCAR values. Maintains team's adherence to plant rules, policies, and procedures. Coaches team in personal accountability, giving and receiving feedback, root cause analysis, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communications. Troubleshoots problems and implements corrective actions through root cause analysis. Seeks and provides resources for team and provides necessary training that will assist the team in reaching its goals. Conducts frequent Safety coaching with team and leads implementation of safe work practices. Leads and/or actively participates in Focused Improvement Teams to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Accurately manage time and attendance for hourly employees daily through established time keeping system and takes immediate action to resolve issues as they arise. Responsible to respond to or resolve all employee issues in their area of responsibility. Responsible for enforcing work rules and assessing with corrective action when warranted. Ensure all newly hired employees receive training. Leads team in tracking and understanding performance metrics and creating action plans to address performance gaps. Actively reinforces key PPS concepts every day through coaching and auditing of team members, Standard Work and ensuring effective pre-shift meetings. Provides frequent informal and periodic formal job performance feedback to team. Qualifications
1-3+ years' experience in a manufacturing/operations environment Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, identify and address problems, and meet deadlines. Team leadership skills 1-3+ years' experience leading high performance work teams a plus Ability to perform formal root cause analysis to identify and resolve operational issues. Strong leadership; organizational and planning abilities; and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Excellent written, verbal and group or individual presentation skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Education
High School Diploma or GED/Equivalency certificate is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field highly preferred General Description of All Benefits
