We are seeking a strong Cloud FinOps professional with experience in both Finance, cloud data and technical knowledge. A combination of the ability to understand numbers, analyze data and communicate effectively is critical for success in this role.

You will be responsible for understanding the data, combining various data and using them to gain financial and operational insights and then communicating the insights to various parts of the business. This requires comfort in deep diving into cost drivers and analyzing variance root causes. You will collaborate with our technology and business stakeholders to understand cloud consumption, drive continuous cost efficiencies and align cloud spending with business objectives. This will include monitoring cloud usage and spending data to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Collaboration:

Collaborate with various infrastructure & Finance teams to analyze cloud usage patterns and identify areas for cost efficiency.

Serve as a strategic partner with stakeholders on cost initiatives and align cloud strategy with broader financial goals.

Partner with leaders across the business and tech organization to provide insightful analysis and influence around infrastructure costs.

Foster a culture of cost accountability among teams by staying updated on Cloud's evolving service offerings, trends, pricing models, and driving implementation of FinOps best practices.

Distribute FinOps processes to tech teams and mentor others with suggested improvements.

Drive and scale continuous cloud cost optimization by implementing frameworks, processes, and solutions.

Cost management & efficiency:

Day to day oversight of cloud FinOps and management of Cloud budget.

Analyze, report, and produce significant insights from large raw datasets within cloud billing and usage tools.

Lead data analysis of cloud expenditure to identify trends, anomalies, and investigate root cause of variances.

Prepare monthly Cloud Financial management reporting with key insights on consumption.

Perform analysis to support initiative and decisions with adhoc financial modeling.

Drive the cloud efficiency and optimization for savings and cost avoidances.

Participate in application/resource review to ensure adherence to cost savings.

Provide expert knowledge on cloud cost optimization strategies and collaborate with Engineering teams.

Reporting and Visibility:

Provide timely and regular insightful reporting on costs and savings opportunities.

Provide strategic reports on business metrics with recommendations that drive realization of cloud value.

Develop reporting to increase visibility - show back models, cost allocation process, unit cost analysis.

Work with internal automation teams to define workflows for self-serve reporting.

Planning and Forecasting:

Partner with Finance team to create Budgets and achieve financial goals.

Build financial models for projecting cloud costs.

Partner with Tech teams to understand their current cloud spend.

Collaborate with capacity teams to develop cost models for new initiatives.

Develop tools and processes for effective Budget operations.

Required Skills:

A related technical degree required.

10+ years of proven financial analysis, reporting, modeling, and forecasting experience.

Ability to use AI capabilities.

Demonstrated experience in driving cloud cost campaign programs.

Ability to interpret and present data in a visually compelling format.

Exceptional communication skills.

Data Analysis skills including queries and building cost forecast models.

Experience building and maintaining data visualizations using tools like Tableau.

Proven experience with data query tools and spreadsheet features.

Experience with Public cloud financial tools and cost management.

Desired Skills/Experience:

SAAS experience.

Experience handling major cost-saving projects.

FinOps certified practitioner.

AWS certification.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $151,800 to $208,800.For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $165,600 to $227,700.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
