(Chicago/Hybrid) The Director of Digital Marketing and Fundraising will be responsible for The Fellowship’s digital marketing and direct response fundraising initiatives and goals through the development and management of annual strategic plans and financial budgets. The individual in this role will utilize their digital marketing experience and expertise to develop and implement fundraising initiatives that will lead to greater fundraising efficiencies to acquire new donors as well as cultivate and retain existing donors. This position will collaborate closely with the Digital Fundraising Team, other Integrated Fundraising channel leaders, internal stakeholders, and external strategic partners. This position is based at our headquarters located in downtown Chicago.
We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or in related fields of equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of non-profit fundraising, with experience in a diverse scope of digital channels. A minimum of 5 years of direct employee management, with proven success in building and maintaining a highly performing team. Certified Fund Raising Executive preferred. Emergency response fundraising is preferred.
Essential Job Responsibilities Include:
Strategy Development and Implementation:
Development and management of integrated digital fundraising and marketing strategy and operations, ensuring campaign development and messaging integrates with organization voice and brand.
Management of direct response initiatives and achieves organizational goals.
Ensure the development and distribution of existing mission inspired content as well as testing new and innovative content through standardized testing methodologies including online Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and digital Multivariate Testing (MVT) platforms.
Fundraising and Reporting:
Develop, maintain, and steward revenue, donor, and expense budgets to reach organizational and channel revenue and new donor goals.
Ensure best practices and quality standards are being employed on all fundraising and marketing initiatives within the overarching digital landscape.
Report to leadership on digital campaign progress, innovative trends, and opportunities for new strategies.
Analysis and utilization of data to enhance existing digital initiatives as well as new hypothesis that will expand the Fellowship digital footprint.
Leadership:
Responsible for leading the digital marketing and fundraising team, ensuring team members are mentored with skill development and growth opportunities.
Provide coaching to team members for ongoing skill development and growth.
Vendor Management:
Responsible for managing multiple vendors, ensuring all are performing against goals and statement of work.
Technical Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of current and effective digital direct response marketing techniques and best practices.
Knowledge of current and emerging top funnel marketing techniques advertisement such as digital video, native advertisement, display advertisement, etc.
Strong project management skills, able to lead teams and vendors to success, driving project and channel momentum.
Strong skills with Microsoft office applications, donor databases, and digital and technology platforms.
Ability to communicate confidently, collaboratively, and effectively with the leadership team, staff, donors, and suppliers; must have exceptional written, oral, and listening communication skills.
Stay abreast of nonprofit market trends and to develop innovative direct response marketing and fundraising strategies that “make sense” for use with our constituents.
Attention to detail with the ability to solve problems and excel in a high-performance culture.
Ability to help define and drive objectives, strategies, and tactics that will roll up to and support broad organization goals.
Develop and oversee execution of creative campaigns, owning content curation and approvals.
Understand and leverage faith-based motivators that drive response from the Evangelical Christian community, ensuring communications are on brand, in IFCJ voice, and appeal to our constituents.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, empower, and motivate staff to perform with excellence.
