The Legal Support Specialist will assist attorneys in the Litigation Department for a multi-national law firm.Duties & Responsibilities
Processes legal documents on behalf of supported attorneysCreates and edits briefs, pleadings and other legal documents as necessary such as formatting and preparing tables of contents and tables of authoritiesResponsible for filing documents with courts and administrative agenciesUses Microsoft Outlook to calendar appointments, handle a litigation calendar, and manage attorney schedulesMakes travel arrangements as necessaryUses written and verbal communication skills on a daily basis during attorney, client and co-worker interactionsManages the phone lines for supported attorneys, fielding calls and conveying messages as necessaryWorks with attorney as needed on monthly billsProcesses attorney expense reimbursements and vendor invoices using the Firm’s reimbursement software systemManages files, opens new matters as requested by attorneys and maintains all relevant document inclusions for the files, both electronically and manually, as necessarySkills & Competencies
The candidate must be a self-starter but also a team player, and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlinesThe ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented and able to learn new technology quicklyCandidate must demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication skills and attention to detailCandidate must have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude and the ability to multi-taskThe ideal candidate will have the ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner under minimal supervision while adhering to strict deadlinesQualification & Prior Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferredThe ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in a large law firm settingLitigation experience requiredAbility to work independently and within a team required
