Responsibilities
We are currently seeking to fill a critical role for a
full-time Intelligence Community Background Investigator
in the area of San Jose, CA.
The Background Investigator will be responsible for:
Conducting background investigations for the purpose of determining employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government informationScheduling meeting times with Subject, Sources, and Record providersConducting face-to-face interviews with the subject of investigation and their neighbors, employers, friends, and familyPerforming record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilitiesReporting all obtained information in a clear and concise report on an issued government computer system
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:U.S. CitizenshipMust be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance; Active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication is preferredAt minimum, a High School diplomaDirect field investigations experience conducting federal background investigations to include completion of Investigator training in compliance with the National Training Standards3 years of general experience (i.e., military, local, state or federal law enforcement or investigative functions) or 1 year of specialized Federal Background Investigative experienceA valid driver's license and a personal vehicle. Driving is an essential function of the job and Motor Vehicle Records may be checked as part of the hiring process or at any time during employment. Candidates with poor driving history will not be considered.Required to carry sufficient motor vehicle insurance, specifics of which will be provided
Additional Qualifications:Ability to interact with a variety of individuals and personalities professionally and effectivelyAbility to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervisionExcellent organizational, scheduling and prioritization skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsIntermediate typing (40+ WPM recommended) and computer skillsMust be able to write for long periods of time, meet expectations for attendance and punctuality, able to pay attention to details able to concentrate; interact professionally with other persons, cooperatively and productivelyMust be able to speak for extended periods of time and hear sufficiently to communicate in person and over the phone; record, read and transcribe words and numbers with a high degree of accuracyMaintain a high level of confidentiality, ethics and integrityDemonstrated metrics in quality, timeliness and productionTravel required locally and outside of primary work area. Local travel consists of approximately 15-20% of work week.Temporary Duty Assignments opportunities several times per year ranging from 14 - 30 daysMust be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds
