We are looking for an experienced and driven Research and Development (R&D) Director to lead our R&D department. The ideal candidate is analytical, strategic, resourceful, and has a deep understanding of the product development lifecycle.Responsibilities:
but not limited to:Develop, review, update, and improve all RMs, FPs and SSs analytical methods as well as entire test method system, for the QC and the R&D Laboratories. All methods need to be developed to meet the GMP and FDA requirements.Conduct Method Validation to meet the GMP quality compliance requirement. Take full responsibility for all MD and MV related work.Provide technical support and guidance to internal QC chemists for using test methods, data result accuracy and GMP compliance. Help in troubleshooting when needed by the chemists.Build, train and retain analytical team.Responsible for all analytical equipment related topics such as budget planning, equipment repair, troubleshooting, PM & Calibration, and upgrades.Support R&D Chemistry and Purchasing Team by reviewing and approving raw materials COAs in a fast efficient manner.Support R&D formulation process by testing and releasing the products as a priority.Support and monitor Production Dept and Warehouse Dept for conformance to SOPs, meet analytical specifications and join the technical transfer process, suggesting the best way to improve manufacturing and packaging procedures as per GMP requirements, avoiding mistakes and all types of waste of materials, time, and labor.Direct report to VP of R&D (CMC) and keep CSO and President informed with the development of all projects.Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.Qualification:MS Degree with an advanced analytical degree preferred in chemistry, microbiology, biology, biochemistry, or equivalent.10 years of analytical field experience in the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industry.Minimum of 5 years' experience in Analytical Lab equipment with computer and internet system knowledge.An equivalent combination of training, managing, and leadership.Skills and Abilities:Attention to detail and cleanliness.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet company deadlines.Ability to make judgment calls to ensure the quality of products.Ability to communicate assignments and/or concerns with team members.We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401K with match.If you are excited to join our company and take the next step in your career, click the apply now button to find out more.Compliance with New York State Human Rights Pay Transparency Law, the annual base salary range for this position is $80k-$100k.
