Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment. This includes air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today's civil, military and business fixed wing and rotocraft platforms, as well as, all branches of the US military forces. We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern for the Spring/Summer 2025 semesters. This position is located in our Clearwater, FL facility and is onsite, not hybrid or remote.Job Summary
Understanding and implementing design direction from Project Engineers using Solidworks or equivalent CAD softwareFollowing standard drawing practices to produce drawings to be used to fabricate material; knowing GD&T is a plusCollecting and analyzing data to form conclusions and suggest next steps to meet product goalsDiscussing work products with appropriate staff members and management in Engineering and OperationsPerforming test and evaluation tasks under the guidance of Project EngineersEducation/Previous ExperienceCurrently enrolled in an Engineering Degree Program at accredited university, Junior/Senior Year Level PreferredMust possess ability to work in and around an Engineering environment in a safe mannerWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CAD Software, preferably SolidworksStrong problem-solving skills using sound judgement and attention to detailWork EnvironmentRestrictions limited only by individual's inability to perform essential job duties and where an unsafe condition would result for the individual or surrounding employeesRequired lifting weight: 20 lbs. Lifting Frequency: RarelySitting, standing, reaching, bending, and moving for extended periods of timeWorking with computers, test equipment and calibration processesManufacturing environmentRequires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditionsRequires wearing common protective or safety equipment as neededIncludes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortableRequires repetitive movement Works with power tools and equipmentRequires the use of proper PPE when necessary
