This Opportunity

WSP USA is seeking a Marketing Manager to join our Mountain Pacific Strategic Growth Team. This key position works closely with business leadership to develop, execute, and monitor the marketing strategy for Seattle, WA, aiming to achieve marketing and sales performance goals.

The Marketing Manager will collaborate with staff across vertical and horizontal markets, including Transportation, Water, Construction Management, Planning, Advisory, Power and Energy, and Property and Buildings. We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills, local industry knowledge, and the ability to lead a marketing program for a large engineering team (100+). The ideal candidate should be energetic, motivated, and a self-starter with a growth mindset. Responsibilities include developing strategic marketing plans; supporting client account and pursuit teams; leading pursuit, bid, and proposal efforts; and managing other marketing professionals.

This position is open to individuals who are eager to grow into the role and develop their skills further. The Marketing Manager will oversee our strategic marketing efforts in Seattle, lead the proposal process, support our fast-paced workflow, and bring creativity and persuasive storytelling to the role. Experience in the AEC or professional services industries is preferred, but a collaborative, can-do attitude is essential. Your Impact

Collaborate with business leaders to drive WSP’s marketing and sales process for must-win projects. Review pursuit portfolios and delegate or lead pursuit development.

Support client account teams in developing client-focused strategies and action plans to enhance WSP’s visibility and reputation, understand WSP’s position with clients, and solicit feedback on existing work.

Lead and support pursuit teams in developing strategies and managing pursuits through pre-RFP, proposal, and interview phases. Develop key sales messages, themes, and differentiators. Oversee pursuit teams and monitor progress and readiness scores.

Coach and lead presentation teams, facilitate interview strategy meetings, provide feedback to presenters, and prepare teams for Q&A.

Work with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills.

Oversee the area’s proposal workload, prioritize assignments, monitor proposal team progress and quality, and take corrective action when necessary.

Supervise marketing consultants and indirectly supervise graphic designers.

Adhere to WSP’s high standards for ethical behavior and quality in all marketing activities.

Participate in professional development activities (e.g., SMPS, WTS) to enhance business acumen and industry relationships.

Coordinate WSP’s visibility and participation in local industry events, professional organization meetings, conferences, and civic engagement activities.

Ensure compliance with marketing policies and procedures, including audit requirements, go/no-go facilitation, and proposal quality.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 7 years of experience in the AEC industry preferred.

2 years of experience supervising staff, including performance reviews, mentorship, and training.

Technical Skills

Excellent communication and coordination skills (oral and written).

Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other related software.

Strategic mindset.

Strong organizational skills and knowledge of business development procedures.

Ability to lead large, diverse teams to positive outcomes.

Capable of handling multiple projects and details simultaneously.

Experience managing standard and complex proposals from start to finish.

Proficient in grammar, punctuation, proofing, and business writing.

Knowledge of AEC industry terms and definitions is highly desired.

Ability to produce high-quality materials under deadline pressure.

Ability to train others on company policies and business development procedures.

Willingness and ability to travel within the district and region as needed.

Compensation:Expected Salary (all locations): $86,700 - $154,330WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
