The Human Resources Business Partner role combines the ability to think and act strategically while connecting effectively with other Human Resources and Operational leaders to positively impact the business operations. Functional accountabilities include talent acquisition, retention employee relations, performance & compensation management, policy interpretation and application, talent management, training development for the corporate operations function and a subset of the company’s manufacturing facilities across North America.IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.ExperienceA minimum of 5 years of exempt-level human resource management experience; a history of progressively responsible and hands-on HR experience within a manufacturing environment; experience as an HR business partner serving a multi-site organization is preferred.Experience in developing and administering HR programs for manufacturing personnel including, but not limited to, recruiting, policies and procedures, employee relations, salary and benefits administration, performance management, organizational development, training, safety and state and federal compliance.Successful track record of project management and working in a team environment.Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) of all types (core HR and payroll, learning management, talent management, performance management, etc.) and Client Server environments.Certification through SHRM and/or HRCI preferred.SkillsExcellent personal computer skills to include a good, working knowledge of Microsoft Office – particularly Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.EducationAn undergraduate degree in human resources, business, or related field; an advanced degree is a plus.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Serve as the primary human resource business partner to our manufacturing operations organization. The position is part of a team of Human Resources Business Partners supporting the Value Stream Organization (18 manufacturing plants) and Value Stream Services (manufacturing support functions like engineering, quality, and logistics).Effectively connect with and listen to operational leaders to clearly understand business needs and create options that are meaningful and executable.Serve as the strategic and trusted resource for Manufacturing Directors and Plant Human Resources Managers on topics relating to manufacturing staffing and retention, organizational development, job analysis and overall business capacity and capability.Provide counseling and assistance to business partners in all topical areas of HR: policy and procedures, benefits administration, compensation administration, training, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, employee selection & recruiting and other key human resource areas.Develop and analyze business trends and metrics to develop innovative solutions, programs and policies to meet business challenges. Effectively communicate complex analyses and proposals in a concise, professional, and visually engaging manner.Actively collaborate with other business and operational leaders on cross-functional teams to solve business challenges.Create and revise company policies that effectively match business objectives with contemporary legal and human resources trends and principles.Serve as a change agent to the business through process design and approach that supports change and transformation. Strives to standardize consistent and legally compliant processes to best practice status.Learn, live, and teach the principles that make up the Woodmark employee culture that help create the right environment for our business and employees, including our CITE principles and working in teams.Provide coordination and direction of projects supported by HR generalists and specialists who support the manufacturing organization.Any additional projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources in support of the company’s vision.Supervisory Responsibilities:Typically, this position does not have supervisory responsibilities.SCOPE & EXPECTATIONS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common manufacturing operations and financial reports. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients to carry out responsibilities or respond to common inquiries. Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to groups of employees and management.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common manufacturing operations and financial reports. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical and financial math calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
