Global Commercial Launch Services Director

is responsible for capturing commercial revenue (business development and sales) to enable Rocket Lab’s sustained operations and growth. You will oversee key commercial customer accounts, including Electron and Neutron launch vehicles; and Dedicated, Primary Rideshare, and Rideshare launch services.WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:Develop and oversee the Global Commercial Launch Services strategy, business development, and salesSupport Global Launch Services commercial quote and proposal developmentExecute winning strategies to rapidly grow new commercial business worldwideUtilize professional network, business development techniques, and product knowledge to market launch services on the Electron and Neutron launch vehicles/mission servicesCollaborate with marketing team to formulate strategy for aerospace industry conferences and networking eventsDevelop marketing materials such as presentations, user guides, and website contentIdentify and capture new customer accountsConvert leads to quotes by leveraging industry-leading tools (i.e. Salesforce CRM), and draft Launch Service Agreements (LSAs)Coordinate mission performance requirements with technical teamsMaintain updated satellite market analysis, and inform senior leadership and technical teams of any relevant trends or changesHost important customers during strategic company events, launches, and press announcementsYOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business discipline12+ years of experience in the aerospace industryExperience with proposal development and business captureTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:Master’s degree in engineering or business disciplineExperience with leadership/managementThorough understanding of global space marketsExperience with strategic business planning, business development, and sales in aerospace or other highly technical industryADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Position requires up to 25-50% domestic and international travelSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focusRegularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writingMust be physically able to commute to buildingsOccasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noiseWHAT TO EXPECT:We’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task.
