Basic Function

The DT Business Analyst – LTC is a key position in the discovery and delivery of business solutions from information technology. The DT Business Analyst – LTC, through continuous consultation with the functional areas, has a deep understanding of business operations and is capable of articulating solutions in business terms. They are capable of envisioning potential value for new IT solutions. While a DT Business Analyst – LTC has a deep understanding of specific business areas, that expertise is set into a broader context of understanding of the business processes and technical capabilities that may cross functional boundaries.

The DT Business Analyst – LTC is an individual contributor responsible for gathering business requirements to ensure business objectives are met by the new Digital Technology solutions and is a team member during the design, development, and execution of projects. The DT Business Analyst – LTC must ensure the full systems lifecycle process is adhered to, overseeing solutions through the entire implementation process. They must be proficient in Project Management disciplines from requirements gathering through implementation of the functional solution. The DT Business Analyst – LTC advocates for their clients and acts as the single point of contact for incident management, new services, and resource allocation.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position reports to the DT Business Analyst Team Manager and supports other Business Analysts. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a trusted business relationship driving the greatest possible business value from IT investments.

Work closely with the Supply Chain and Commercial team to understand their business processes, suggest improvement opportunities, and identify technology solutions to address business needs.

Consider upstream processes (forecasting and opportunity analysis processes) and downstream processes (delivery processing, shipping processing, inventory management, and billing processing) in the proposed design.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including functional developers, data scientists, cybersecurity professionals, network engineers, and program management staff to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of IT services.

Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.

Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that their needs are met through the delivery of high-quality IT services.

Identify areas for process improvement within IT service delivery and develop and implement solutions to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Update/pivot from a given plan in order to refocus resources as needed. Demonstrate agility and adaptability in response to changing business needs and priorities.

Oversee and follow up on enhancements and small project implementation activities and work with functional/technical developers to ensure business requirements are clear and development activities are on schedule.

Work closely with business colleagues to quickly understand new requirements or problems, and suggest possible solutions.

Lead solution design activities with client groups in a specific business area to create and document business requirements.

Help develop business cases, considering financial, resource, and technological constraints; develop cost estimates with consideration to business impacts and risks.

Consult with business colleagues on appropriate change management activities to achieve organizational readiness for the implementation of changes.

Demonstrate leadership by coordinating the requirements, specifications, and user acceptance testing efforts.

Participate in the development of short and long-term plans.

Support incident and problem management processes for assigned functional areas and client groups in support of ongoing operations.

Min. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline with specialized leadership training and/or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience and education.

3+ years of solutions and multiple domain experience with increasing levels of leadership responsibility in systems analysis, defining technical requirements, and performing high-level design for complex solutions.

3+ years of work experience in roles that had a high level of client or end-user engagement with experience in both support and formal or informal leadership.

Experience in the Petrochemical Industry with strong business acumen.

Knowledge of relevant business processes in Lead to Cash and their integration with SAP systems.

Understand available capabilities and services and work with business interface and commercial resources to ensure business needs are met effectively and cost-efficiently.

Ability to acquire new knowledge, adapt to, and contribute to a fast-moving environment.

Ability to work well individually or in a group setting.

Ability to interact with co-workers to develop a team environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Goal-driven, action-oriented.

This position conducts business in more than 6 countries or in areas/communities that have strong, unique ethnic/cultural traditions. Domestic and international travel of 5% is anticipated.
