We are looking for a Senior Consultant for Red Hat technologies to join our talented team of professionals and help clients drive open source transformation. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to our federal customers, developing solutions for complex scenarios, and demonstrating the value of open source solutions. To be successful in this role, you must have a deep understanding of open source technologies, a passion for problem-solving, and experience working with stakeholders from both the business and technical sides of an organization. You must also demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, an ability to prioritize tasks, and a commitment to customer service. If you have at least 5 years of experience with RHEL and any of the listed technologies, you can qualify for various federal and commercial projects across the U.S. Work locations depend on the customer requirements, and range from full-telework to hybrid-remote (occasional visits to customer site), or 100% onsite work location at customer site (typically Top Secret environments).
Primary Red Hat Consulting skills needed to qualify for projects include, but are not limited to, at least two of the following technologies:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9 (maintaining latest versions)
Ansible Automation Platform
Satellite Server
OpenShift Containerization Platform (OCP)
OpenStack Platform (OSP)
General Responsibilities for Red Hat Consulting includes, but are not limited to:
System Design and Implementation:
Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and design Red Hat-based solutions to meet their needs.
Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems and associated software.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Systems Administration:
Perform day-to-day system administration tasks, including user management, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of RHEL systems through regular maintenance and updates.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to customer systems.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline system provisioning, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
Red Hat Consulting:
Provide expert advice and consultancy services to clients on Red Hat best practices and solutions.
Assist clients in optimizing and enhancing their existing Red Hat infrastructure.
Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on Red Hat technologies.
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) and/or RH Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and open-source technologies.
Experience in virtualization technologies, preferably with Red Hat Virtualization.
Excellent scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible etc.) for automation tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
