Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a
Senior System Developer
with extensive integration experience to join our team in developing, integrating, and testing new capabilities while supporting an ongoing Linux and Windows based operational and administrative system in our Chantilly, VA office. As part of our classified Windows-based Operational Support Network team you will support an exciting program in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders in support of a comprehensive, fast-paced program for our Department of Defense (DoD) customer. What you'll do: As a Senior System Developer team member, you will provide technical guidance, demonstrate expertise in the design, testing and development of new capabilities, update architecture design, perform requirement analysis, and build mission-critical, highly available services in a collaborative environment. Specific duties include:
Work closely with DOD customer and stakeholders throughout system lifecycle in development, integration & test, and deployment of a classified Operation Support Network Perform application packaging, deployments, documentation, and release control using GitLab and Ansible automation platform Build mission-critical, highly available, high-performance networked systems in a team-oriented environment Apply security patches and updates to Linux systems efficiently using Red Hat Satellite Server Advise and support system development and implementation planning by evaluating system engineering, system integration, and test plans Develop systems engineering-related documentation to include operational concepts, requirements, specifications, interface control documents, and validation & verification plans Provide technical support for Linux and Windows-based components in a complex, high-performance computing environment Provide training and support to other team personnel on Linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) related tasks Participate in program increment planning, sprint planning /retrospective, and other SAFe Agile-related team activities Adhere to weekly schedule during core business hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with the expectation that most work hours are performed within this timeframe. Travel opportunity, up to 10% of time in support of site surveys, hardware installation and maintenance support. Participate in tenant site surveys independently or as part of a team to document current as-is state (equipment, users, connected devices, power, etc.) Mentor mid-level and junior developers while efficiently managing tasks with minimal supervision Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree and 10+ years of expeirence in a related field; or Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in a related field; or a Master's degree and 6+ years of experience in a related field. Four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance. Hold certifications, training, and/or experience in compliance with DoD 8140 for position held Extensive experience in system architecture, design, and development, requirements analysis, network design/implementation, validating and testing. Has a solid understanding and experience with secure systems engineering & development techniques and processes Has experience with in-depth requirement development, decomposition, and refinement based on knowledge of system / service functional architecture Extensive knowledge and experience with RHEL 8 deployment Experience writing and deploying Ansible playbooks (or other automation software technologies) Experience with shell scripting in Windows and / or Linux environments Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Atlassian Data Center products (I.e. Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence) Ability to independently deploy/maintain a Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) environment Experience or knowledge of Sentris, or other similar attribute-based security classification services, deployments in an enterprise environment. Experience in a fast-paced SAFe Agile Scrum team environment Holds a ITIL 4 Practice Manager or ITIL 4 Managing Professional certification or able to obtain Benefits: Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan

Target Salary Range $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
