Sales Managers are responsible for the efficient and profitable sales of all products and equipment. Oversees the activity of the sales staff with attention given to servicing the interest and needs of every customer. Advises and makes recommendations to the V.P. and President with the respect to the best interest of the sales department.

Responsibilities:

Prepare reasonable annual objectives for the sales department. These objectives should be reviewed and maintained on a monthly basisSees that authorized sales plans and programs are carried out by the sales department with respect to profit, volume, product mix and coverageInsures availability of adequate manpower at all times. The sales department should be available to our customers Monday through Saturday.Make yourself available for unconventional business hoursWorks with sales consultants in the field to develop maximum selling effort, makes territorial changes as necessaryInitiates necessary action to insure proper technical and service department support for the sales department, coordinates warranty expense program with service managerParticipate, organizes and conduct training programs and sales meetings, or arrange for such activities to be performed by qualified personnelCoordinate all company trades and secure financing arrangements with regard to allowance on trade-ins, (With the V.P. Sales and/or President) and insures that the target profit goals are metPeriodically evaluates each salesman's performance and planned goals. Provide guidance and direction to assist them in their professional developmentMaintain proper records, submit necessary reports, check customer credit status and controls expenditures along with other required administrative detailsProvide to the sales force any necessary documents on reporting on daily activities, use of time more effectively and efficiently and follow up procedures for potential customers.Resolve customer complaints in a prompt and efficient manner to minimize customer inconvenience and maximize the company business image with the customerProvide effective sales presentations to support the dealership's sales goals.Understand and support the company's sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers.Stay current on technological changes in industry; understand equipment terminology and report competitive information to the V.P. Sales and President.Perform other duties as assignedRequirements
