Job Description: The Principal Systems Engineer will execute multiple aspects of the systems engineering discipline, to include requirements decomposition into software functions, system performance analysis and trade studies, oversight of software development and system integration and test activities to ensure system requirements closure. The system engineer will interact with the agile development teams, program leadership and customer regarding technical considerations, risks, and issue closure associated with our portfolio capabilities. This position is for State College, Pennsylvania, Aurora, CO, and Richardson, TX.
Responsibilities:In this role you will work with the customer and engineering leadership to perform analysis necessary to define and document requirements for software releases; work with the Requirements Manager to ensure up to date requirements traceability matrices are in place; assist in the creation/management of a project schedule based on development and release activities.Multi-task, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to all levels of the organization and drive processes to successful completion in support of schedulesResponsible for contributing to the technical planning and capability / feature designs, and technical detailing for the agile development teams.Work on a cloud solutions, where parts of the system will be on the Cloud environment and other portions remain on a hardware environmentUtilize knowledge of networking, infrastructure, cyber security, software design and architecturesSkills & Qualifications:
An active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance is required prior to start date.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experienceSystem engineering full life cycle experience and technical leadership experience in development of large software systems.Experience supporting agile development activities, including requirements specification and integration test and verification activities (full life-cycle)Experience with requirements derivation, capability development-analyze complex requirements and determine viable solutionsExperience decomposing customer epics into capabilities that can then be decomposed by the development teams into actionable features and stories for developmentSystems design and specification experience, CONOPS development and large-scale distributed software system experienceExperience defining acceptance criteria for capabilities that can be detail designed and developed by external teamsExperience conducting design and/or modeling activities, interpreting customer needs, and converting them to achievable requirementsExperience maintaining technical cost and schedule for systems engineering and software integrationPreferred Qualifications:
SIGINT, GEOINT, or Multi-INT Intelligence Community (IC) background analyst with end user mission experienceExperience in a technical leadership role of a large multi-disciplined engineering teamExperience with cloud-based S/W architectures and systemsExperience using Architecture Frameworks and modeling resources and methodologies like Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, etc. for definition of large systems with complex integration and interoperability challenges.Experience developing MBSE and/or DoDAF operational views for overview and detailsAWS cloud experience - AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementationScaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experience, as a System Engineer or working directly with in such rolesExperience using modeling resources Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and evaluation of COTS / FOSS applicationsFor more information or to view other opportunities, visit us at
