The APRN/PA will be responsible for managing care of inpatient consults and procedures for GI-IBD Clinic. This advanced practice provider will need to excel in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi task and prioritize based on patient acuity. The APRN/PA must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients.Qualifications:

Implements treatment plans, orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests, prescribes medical treatments and medications, and manages health issues in collaboration with designated physician(s)
Provides an acceptable plan of care that maximizes the patient's health potential and takes into account ordering of appropriate diagnostic tests, identifying and prescribing appropriate pharmacologic agents when needed, and identifying and planning non-pharmacologic interventions when appropriate
Promotes optimal health of the patient by including preventive and health promotion activities into the plan of care and participating in clinical pathway development and quality management activities.
Participates as a team member in patient care conferences with other health disciplines, and in clinical case conferences and other department/campus meetings
Consults with physicians and other health professionals when needed. Follows up on the client by phone calls, rounds, scheduled visits, and lab results
Educates, instructs, and counsels patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care
Facilitates appropriate patient referrals to multidisciplinary and other specialty providers
Performs other duties as assigned
