Job Summary
The Café Manager oversees the church's retail food service operation for congregants, visitors, and staff. As a member of the Leawood Retail Team, manages all aspects of operations for The Spring Cafe, supports weekend worship coffee, and partners with the Catering Team, as needed.
Essential Responsibilities and Expectations

Position-Specific. In collaboration with the Retail Director:
Establish and maintain systems and procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving coffee and food related products. This may include purchasing, physically picking up inventory from local wholesale clubs and other vendors.Conduct assigned activities within an annual operating budget. Track financial performance against the budget.Coordinate, schedule, train and supervise staff and volunteer personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality, and cost control, delegating work, as appropriate, and providing timely follow-up.Model behavior with respect to excellence in customer service, sales, merchandising, loss prevention, housekeeping, and stock maintenance.Ensure that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels are met.Present and maintain an attractive, inviting space, which encourages congregants to fellowship and purchase products.Develop seasonal menu offerings.Manage daily handling of cash and sales records, purchasing and receiving records, deposits, and related income and expense records in keeping with the financial control policies and procedures of Resurrection. Conduct periodic inventory, as directed. Complete month-end processes, prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to the Finance and Accounting department on a timely basis.Establish and maintain staff, volunteer, and guest relationships.Maintain a culture of outstanding hospitality and ability to work with staff of different abilities.Prepare for and conduct team meetings, ensuring staff are trained for success.Lead, mentor, and provide direction to staff members who are direct reports. This includes ministry assessment and performance evaluation, goal setting, mentoring, spiritual encouragement, support, and conflict resolution.Other duties as assigned.Churchwide

3 years' experience in customer service, preferably in food and/or coffee shop.3 years management/leadership experience.Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.Proven Results in MS Office, price pointing products, customer, and vendor relationships.
