Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Multimedia/UX Designer/ Principal Multimedia/UX Designer - User Experience Designer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in
Melbourne, Florida .
Essential Functions
Facilitate the customer's product vision by conceiving, sketching, and prototyping experiences for digital products with a user centered design approach and consideration to HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) and Human Factors principalsTranslate research data into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiencesLead user research efforts with the proper stakeholders and collaborate with the user research team for insight, as well as, rapid prototypes and GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces)Be flexible and iterate designs in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environmentsUse one or more industry standard design and prototyping tools to create wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypesParticipate in design critiques and take suggestions with graceMake and articulate strategic design decisions on existing products and conceptual product ideasSelf-starter with accountability to prioritize, improve, and manage their daily tasking while supporting multiple efforts, and complete HMI design updates with limited oversightConfer with subsystem engineers and subject matter experts for project details regarding background information, project parameters and objectives, presentation approaches, styles, techniques, and other graphics related production factorsConsult and brainstorm with staff to develop innovative ideas, concepts, solutions, and materials for human interface designsCreate and oversee preparation of illustrative materials; including iconography, infographics, mockups, wireframes, and diagramsCommunicate the value of UX to stakeholders to ensure all Agile stories meet the acceptance criteriaThis position may be hired as a Multimedia/UX Designer or Principal Multimedia/UX Designer based on candidate education, experience, and qualifications. This position is contingent upon verification of DoD Secret clearance prior to start.

Basic Qualifications
Multimedia/User Experience Designer: Bachelor of science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 2 years of professional work experience as a UX designer, or a Master of Science degree in a STEM disciplinePrincipal Multimedia/User Experience Designer: Bachelor of science degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of professional work experience as UX designer, a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of work experience as a UX designer, or A PhD in a STEM disciplineDemonstrated experience with Adobe visual design or prototyping tools including Adobe InDesign and IllustratorDemonstrated experience utilizing UI/UX design principlesMust have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.Preferred Qualifications

$56,600 - $85,000
Salary Range 2:
$69,600 - $104,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
