The EMR Educator will be responsible of the BronxCare Health System/MLK Jr. Electronic Health Record
Clinician Training program for creating training materials and for educating outpatient and inpatient department
staff. To perform job-specific tasks in the Allscripts EHR and toward improving EHR documentation, improving
patient safety, reducing bill holds, denials and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Contribute to and participate in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with corrective/improvement activities, membership on CQI teams, consistent adherence to established performance standards and: adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BCHS’ Safety & Security Policies; Risk Management; Incident and Occurrence Reporting; Infection Control Policies and Procedures; Patient and Customer Service. Creates training materials for new workflows and operations under the guidance of Director of Clinician Training in Allscripts software for EHR. Provides end user training for Allscripts HER to ensure successful implementation of clinical workflows and staff have sufficient knowledge to perform their job duties efficiently in the EHR. Work together with providers toward improving Electronic health Records (EHR) documentation.To ensure that providers will meet the threshold for Meaningful Use and other regulatory requirements compliance in Allscripts.
1) In collaboration with Director of Clinician Training and evaluate training effectiveness and provide recommendation with revision to specific training program 2) Provide communication of education updates and other materials in a timely manner
When trends/significant error rate has been identified, in collaboration with Director of Clinician Training and shall set/establish error specific training improvement. Educate providers for optimum use of EHR to reduce insurance denials and bill holds.
Bachelor's Degree.
Must have minimum of (1+) year experience. Ideal candidate will possess organizational skills, as well as written and verbal communication. Required Skills: Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Possess the ability to put people of all backgrounds and cultures at ease. Able to work toward creation, development and promotion of safe and healthy communities through education, action and research.
