Cardiac Surgery - Nurse Practitioner - Central Massachusetts

Serving a diverse patient population and offering advanced cardiac surgery including open and endovascular aortic repair, coronary revascularization, structural heart, and mechanical circulatory support, including a destination VAD program. Clinical work spans the full spectrum of perioperative cardiac surgery care from high complexity tertiary and quaternary care services to routine surgical cases, performing approximately 550 cases annually.
Who we are seeking:
Qualified applicants with strong work ethics and an appreciation of excellent teamwork who are interested in continuing their education and developing their practice in a fast-paced and challenging work environment. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in working at an academic medical center on a service run and completely staffed by advanced practice providers with a high level of autonomy. The advanced practice provider team is the first point of contact and provides care in the ICU, post-operative floor, and outpatient clinic. The surgically trained APPs provide operative first assisting and endoscopic vein harvest in all cases. Master's degree Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant BLS & ACLS certification
Position Highlights: The team consists of 18 Advanced practice providers, 3 cardiac surgeons, and 4 surgical intensivists. PAs and NPs to operate at their full scope of practice, including bedside procedures, critical care, operative first assisting, and endoscopic vein harvesting. Flexible scheduling is available for full and part-time positions, 12 & 24-hour shifts. Days, weekends, evenings, and overnights are available. There is an opportunity for additional shifts for incentive with a premium for overnights. Category 1 CME is offered many educational meetings. In addition, there are multiple teaching opportunities.
